In short: Stimmyz is designed around sound clips and boards stored locally on your Android device. Audio recording and media import begin only when you choose those features. This description assumes the launch app has no analytics, advertising, or cloud uploads; that assumption must be verified against the actual release build.
1. Overview
Stimmyz (“the App”) is an Android soundboard application that lets you record audio, import sound clips, trim recordings, customize sound pads, and organize them into boards. This policy describes what the App may access and how that information is handled. The features and processing described below must reflect the version distributed on Google Play.
2. Who is responsible for your data?
App: Stimmyz.
Developer / data controller: [INSERT LEGAL DEVELOPER NAME OR ENTITY].
Privacy contact: [INSERT PUBLIC CONTACT EMAIL ADDRESS].
When you contact us, we use the information you provide (such as your email address and message) to respond to your inquiry. We retain correspondence only as needed to handle your request and applicable legal obligations.
3. Information and device permissions
- Device-audio capture: If you start this feature, Stimmyz requests Android's screen/audio capture authorization (MediaProjection) and captures audio that Android and the source app permit it to capture. A system permission or consent screen appears as applicable. Some apps prohibit capture.
- Microphone: If you choose to record your own voice, the App requests microphone access and uses the microphone audio to create the clip. The App should not record microphone audio when you are not using a recording feature.
- Imported media: If you import audio or video using a file picker, the App accesses the selected file to extract, edit, and store your sound clip.
- Gallery artwork: If you add an image to a sound pad, the App accesses the image you select using Android's photo or document picker and copies it into app storage as needed.
- App settings and created content: The App stores your sounds, clip names, trim points, volume/repeat preferences, pad positions, board settings, appearance theme, and related information needed for the App to work.
- Notifications: When needed by Android, the App requests notification permission to show a recording-status notification with a way to stop ongoing capture.
Features are user-initiated. The permissions used by the final release may vary by Android version.
4. Why we use this information
Audio, files, images, and app preferences are used to provide the soundboard features you request: creating and editing clips, displaying artwork, remembering settings, and playing saved sounds. Where personal data processing is subject to the GDPR, the applicable legal basis is generally providing the functions you request, your consent where legally required (including for particular device access), or our legitimate interest in answering support inquiries. You may refuse optional permissions, but features requiring them will not operate.
5. Local storage and security
Under the planned local-first design, your created sound clips, imported media copies, optional artwork, and board preferences are stored on your Android device rather than uploaded by Stimmyz to an app-operated cloud service. Android's app storage isolation and system permissions help restrict access to that content.
No system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your device secure and avoid recording or importing material you do not have the right to use. If the shipped App introduces accounts, cloud sync, or uploads, this section must be updated before release.
6. Third parties and data sharing
The planned version does not deliberately transmit your recorded clips, imported files, pad images, or boards to Stimmyz-operated servers or share them with advertisers. This must be verified by auditing the shipped APK/AAB and its SDKs.
Android and Google Play provide system-level permissions, file pickers, store distribution, and related platform functionality. Google may process information in connection with its services according to its own policies. If you intentionally export or share a sound through an Android sharing feature, the destination is chosen by you.
Important: If the launch build uses advertising, analytics, crash reporting, remote content, or any third-party SDK that collects or transmits personal or device data, this policy must identify the data categories, uses, recipients, and any relevant cross-border transfers. No such SDK is assumed in this draft.
7. Data retention and deletion
Locally saved sounds, images, and settings remain on the device until you delete the content, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App, subject to Android storage and backup behavior. Deleting a sound from your board or library should remove the corresponding data as implemented in the release version.
Android device backups may preserve App data if backup is enabled in the release configuration and in your device settings. The developer must verify whether backups are enabled and describe how backed-up content can be deleted or excluded. Support correspondence is deleted when no longer needed, subject to legal requirements.
8. Your choices and rights
You can decline recording or file permissions, stop an active recording, manage saved sounds and boards through the App, and clear the App's local data through Android settings. You may also change applicable permissions in Android Settings at any time.
Depending on where you live, including in the European Economic Area, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection for personal data controlled by the developer, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact the privacy address above to make a request. Where data exists only on your device, the developer may be unable to access or retrieve it. EEA residents may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority, including Lithuania's State Data Protection Inspectorate.
9. Children's privacy
Stimmyz does not require creating an account in the planned release. The developer must confirm the intended age audience and applicable Google Play Families obligations before launch. If the App is marketed to children or knowingly processes children's personal data, additional rules and disclosures may apply.
10. This website and cookies
The Stimmyz launch website is a static website and currently contains no advertising tags, analytics code, embedded third-party content, or cookies set by its own scripts. The hosting provider may process standard technical information, including IP addresses and request logs, to deliver and secure the site. Hosting-specific practices should be reviewed when a provider is selected.
11. Policy updates and contact
We may update this policy as App features or data practices change. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. If a change requires consent or an in-app disclosure, we will provide it as required.
For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact [INSERT PUBLIC CONTACT EMAIL ADDRESS].
Before this page goes live: Fill in the controller/contact details, verify all permission and SDK disclosures, document Android backup and deletion behavior, then remove this drafting notice and the noindex meta tag. Set the actual effective date.
